The Lectures

Richmond, England (First Church).—Introducing Judge Samuel W. Greene, a Christian Science lecturer, to his audience, Reginald Tonkin said in part:—

Jesus once said, "Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbit them not: for of such is the kingdom of God." He knew that unless we leave behind all mortal and material beliefs, and take on the clear, innocent, and receptive thought of the little child, we cannot perceive or understand our relationship, as dear children, to our loving Father-Mother, God. We must be "born again," as the Master told Nicodemus; and as members of Christian Science Sunday Schools, children have a glorious opportunity of attaining this spirituality and giving out to others the knowledge of God, which enables them to rise above sin, sickness, and error into the perfection that is the heritage of every child of God. "And a little child shall lead them," Isaiah tells us.
