It is with profound gratitude and appreciation that I avail myself of the privilege of voicing my gratitude through the columns of the Christian Science publications, testifying to the healing power of Truth.

Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." How true! I am inclined to think there are few who realize the full significance of those words of our Master. I know I did not until after coming into Christian Science a few years ago. I at that time used to say to myself: Know the truth, and the truth will make you free. Free from what? It did not take me long to find out after reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and studying the weekly Lesson-Sermons. I began to realize that I had a disposition that required attention, also a tobacco habit of about twenty years' standing, and a bowel condition of about nine years' duration that did not give way to any treatment through materia medica. I was at that time employed in a position that required a thorough physical examination once a year, and I would occasionally have such an examination of my own accord to ascertain the cause and try to effect a cure; but notwithstanding what the doctors said or did, they could not locate the cause or eliminate the condition.

After coming into Christian Science through the remarkable healing of my wife, I had occasion to seek help through a practitioner to overcome a discordant business condition, which was eventually met. In the meantime, this bowel condition resolved itself into its native nothingness. The tobacco habit left me. Then I began to realize that I had a different outlook on life. Everything about me took on a different aspect. The business problem was met; and, in fact, I began to realize in a measure what our Master really meant.
