I am indeed very grateful for some understanding of the truth. From early childhood I was an ardent worker in the church to which I then belonged, and constantly sought to know the truth, but many things puzzled me and many questions which I asked my good clergymen were not answered to my entire satisfaction. As the years passed by and my health began to fail, I questioned why God should send these things upon me when I had always tried so hard to be good. After trying to gain my health through the help of many physicians, who assured me that they had no relief for me except an operation, from the shock of which they warned me that they would not vouch for my recovery, I finally consented to give Christian Science a trial, on the advice of my dear mother, who had been healed through Christian Science several years before. I went to a practitioner, with the remark, "But I don't want to give up my church or my social pleasures." I shall never forget his kindly answer: "Child, we do not ask you to give up a thing." Treatment was begun, and a decided improvement was noted from the first, and although my helaing was slow I am truly grateful, for it made me study and find the reason for my returning health. My complete restoration to health was permanent, and I soon found that I had nothing to give up, for I had come to see the nothingness of material pleasures, and that my real pleasure was in acquiring more of that Mind which was in Christ Jesus.

I am truly grateful for all that Christian Science has done and is doing for me and for those I love. I have seen all forms of error overcome, and have had the joy of experiencing instantaneous healings. I am grateful to our dear Leader for all that she has done for us, and for what her works are doing for the world. Her pure thought and consecrated life have been a blessing to all mankind. May this loving offering help some others as the testimonies in the periodicals have helped me.
