I wish to express my gratitude to God and to Mrs. Eddy...
I wish to express my gratitude to God and to Mrs. Eddy for Christian Science, which came to us when we were in desperation nine years ago. Since that time we have relied upon its healing efficacy entirely, and every problem has been met beautifully. The Christian Science literature has also been very helpful to us.
Some of the diseases which have been overcome in our family are kidney trouble, rheumatism, infected hands, and la grippe. By holding to the truth, and with the help of a practitioner, I have proved God to be always "a very present help in trouble." When we first become interested in Christian Science, our son was ill with liver trouble. Being the daughter of a physician, I had great faith in material remedies, and we tried allopathic, homeopathic, and osteopathic treatments for him, without success. Then we turned to Christian Science, and after a week's treatment he was healed. Later, when serving on the battle fields of France, he was protected every moment by the understanding of the truth, and at the close of the war he returned to us in splendid condition.
Divine Love has cast fear out of our lives and we are much happier, and trying each day to advance spiritually. These words of Mrs. Eddy, on page 21 of Science andHealth, have inspired our highest effort: "If the disciple is advancing spiritually, he is striving to enter in. He constantly turns away from material sense, and looks towards the imperishable things of Spirit. If honest, he will be in earnest from the start, and gain a little each day in the right direction, till at last he finishes his course with joy."
