I, too, wish to give a testimony of the many blessings...

I, too, wish to give a testimony of the many blessings which have been received in my family. In the summer of 1917 my sixteen-year-old daughter became suddenly very ill. As we were already acquainted with Christian Science, we endeavored to quiet our fear through the application of this teaching, but as the fever continued to rise, fear again possessed us. We then consulted a physician, who diagnosed the case as pneumonia and pleurisy. He stated that he could not say whether or not the patient would survive. It was in this sad condition that we were left. My daughter would not take medicine, but requested me to call up a Christian Science practitioner and ask for help, which was lovingly given. During that same day the practitioner came and explained to us that God is our only help; that we must find our refuge in Him, and that Truth would also be the victor in this case. Upon returning home at night, I saw that the fever had left entirely. Five days later our daughter was able to get up, and very soon afterwards to attend the services with us. We were frequently privileged to experience the love of our Father. How ashamed we were for having had so little faith in Him that in the hour of need we looked to man for help. We are striving more and more each day to live this beautiful truth and love in our daily lives. God is performing the same wonders to-day as nineteen hundred years ago, when our Master was on earth. With the psalmist I wish to say, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits."—Wilhelm Engel, Berlin-Pankow, Germany.
