Paul said that death is the last enemy that shall be destroyed. He also said that Christ Jesus had abolished death. In the very same sense Mrs. Eddy declared that as death is not a spiritual reality or fact, it is unreal. There is no death to God, Spirit, nor to spiritual, immortal man. Similarly Christian Science teaches that sin is not of God, and that spiritual man does not sin, even as John declared. It is an utter misconception to say that Christian Science makes no distinction between God and man. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy writes, "Man is never God, but spiritual man, made in God's likeness, reflects God" (p. 70); also she writes on page 250: "Man is not God, but like a ray of light which comes from the sun, man, the outcome of God, reflects God;" and on page 336 she says: "God is the parent Mind, and man is God's spiritual offspring." Throughout all her writings it is consistently maintained that the real, spiritual man is God's idea, the conscious expression of divine Mind.
