With a heart full of gratitude and love I testify to the many blessings received through the knowledge of Christian Science. At the time this teaching came to my notice I was a very miserable woman, and did not know what to do to gain release from bondage. I had suffered for nine years from inflammation, an abnormal growth, movable kidney, weak heart, weak back, and bowel trouble.

About seven years ago I attended a Wednesday evening testimony meeting. After being seated a few minutes I noticed on the wall of the church these words: "Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you." For the first time in my life I realized how obedient Jesus was to every law of the Father, and that by this obedience he overcame every ill that flesh is heir to. The calm sense of peace, love, and confidence that came to me is more than I could explain. I knew the Father of all would heal me if I was obedient as Jesus was. From that moment I felt myself a free woman, and in four days had cast away the material supports I was wearing, also all medicines.

Our niece, whom we have brought up in our home, was stricken with diphtheria and scarlet fever at the age of four years, and the doctors did not expect her to recover. She did so, but two years later valvular heart trouble developed. We were told never to excite her or let her run, and only to send her to school when we thought fit. I am grateful to testify that her healing came instantaneously along with mine and she has never complained since. She was behind with her schooling, but to-day is a bright, intelligent, strong, and healthy girl.
