Worcester (Mass.) Telegram

Kindly permit me to say to your readers, with reference to a paragraph in the Telegram, that Christian Scientists do not declare that influenza can be fought off by will power. The use of what is commonly called will power is not at all the practice of Christian Science. Doubtless the will to be well is better than the will to be ill, but neither of these states of human thought is equal to the understanding of spiritual being and spiritual law which is taught by Christian Science.

The implication of the same paragraph, that persons relying on Christian Science as a remedy for influenza have been disappointed, also indicated a lack of authentic information. The fact is that Christian Science has made an excellent record for both prevention and cure throughout the epidemic. This statement is made with reference to Massachusetts and to the entire United States.
