Nearly two years ago I started to investigate the teachings of Christian Science, although I had been brought up in another church and had been a member of it about twenty-nine years. I had been in very poor health for about four years, and it seemed as if everything was the matter with me, in spite of the fact that I had doctored a great deal and taken quantities of medicine. About this time a friend commenced to send me copies of the Sentinel. At first I scarcely looked at them, as I had no use for Christian Science; then I sent for a book written against this religion, intending to show my friend where she ws in the wrong. When the book came I hastened to read it, but had not gone far when I became so disgusted with it that I went to my friend's house, taking the book with me. I read some of the terrible things to her, and she could prove that they were all false.

Then I decided that if Christian Science was right, I would have treatment, but that I would rather go on suffering all my life than do anything which would not be right in the sight of God. I therefore began to study Science and Health and to attend the church services. I was soon satisfied it was a true, pure, and beautiful religion, so I visited a practitioner and in three treatments was completely cured of lifelong bowel and stomach trouble. I have been healed of colds, a severe case of influenza, headaches, and many other ills. I have also had the pleasure of helping others in my home. I have not used medicine in any form since I took up Christian Science, and my husband does not take it now either. For all this I am very thankful, but more so for the better understanding of the Bible.
