I am very thankful for the help which Christian Science brings to me daily, though I did not take it up for the sake of the physical healing, but because it appeared so very reasonable when first presented to me. I have been healed of several minor ailments, including colds, coughs, loss of voice, toothache, headaches, a wart, deafness in one ear, and severe pains. Christian Science is also a great help in my work as a school teacher. I have now been several years in my present situation, and have not had to miss one half day, which proves to me the protecting power of Christian Science. It also helps me with the children.

I often find that the boys who have been considered the most troublesome have proved to be among the best in my class. One instance is that of a boy who was often sent up to the master for punishment. He had been forbidden to go with the other boys when they went out to the woodwork school, and had to go by himself later. When I began to give lessons in his class, just at first it was hard to get on with him, but I tried to help him in some work in which he was backward, and he soon yielded. He is now among the best in the class in behavior, and I have heard from his mother that he told her he always felt as though he could be good when I was taking the class. He is good with the other teachers too, and so far as I know has not been sent up to the master for a long time.

Before coming into Christian Science I tried hard to become converted. One evening after a mission service I went into the inquiry room and struggled to gain that ecstatic feeling which I believed must be associated with conversion. No change of feeling came, however, and I went away disappointed. Through Christian Science I have now learned that conversion is not a sudden change of feeling, but a mental transformation, a putting on of the Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus," and that happiness comes in proportion to our faithfulness in doing this.
