I came into Christian Science through trying to bring...

I came into Christian Science through trying to bring relief to a friend. I had heard a great deal about this teaching, but had never taken it seriously; nevertheless I prevailed on my friend to attend a Wednesday evening meeting. The testimonies were so wonderful that on the way home I decided to try Christian Science for physical, mental, and other discordant conditions, so the following day a practitioner was consulted.

A few days later I awoke in the morning with an acute attack of biliousness. My wife wanted to summon a physician, but I said that I would be all right, and in a few minutes arose and went to work. On reaching town I telephoned the practitioner and by night was entirely well. There has never been a return of the trouble. Bleeding piles, from which I had suffered for two years and for which three physicians said I would have to be operated on, were overcome in one treatment, and glasses that had been used for nine years have been laid aside, although my work requires constant reading of all kinds of writing. I was healed of appendicitis in three treatments, being confined to the bed only two days. To me this experience was a beautiful and wonderful healing.

My home life, as well as my business life, has been altogether harmonious since I have been a student of Christian Science, and the wonderful results experienced have brought my wife and daughter into Science. My wife was healed of an attack of acute lung trouble with the aid of a practitioner. On one occasion she was suffering from an abscess caused by a diseased tooth, and her face was badly swollen. Within half an hour after treatment had been given her the abscess broke and the pain entirely disappeared.
