Your quotation from a monthly periodical published in a recent issue of the Globe, states that Christian Scientists worship Mrs. Eddy; it also infers that the teachings of Christian Science cannot be demonstrated. To state that Christian Scientists worship Mrs. Eddy is to misapprehend their true attitude toward their beloved Leader. It is quite natural that Christian Scientists should express loving gratitude to her, yet this reverence cannot be likened to the act of paying divine homage to Deity, the one and only Supreme Being, to whom all honor and worship is due.

Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, is not viewed as a God or Christ by her followers; their love and devotion is but gratitude for the Christian service she has performed in restoring the healing Christ to human consciousness. The touchstone of Christian Science is demonstration, and for half a century it has stood the test. Christian Science is now established in all parts of the world and its ministrations are no longer questioned by the fair-minded. On page 233 of "Miscellaneous Writings" Mrs. Eddy writes, "What think you of a scientist in mathematics who finds fault with the exactness of the rule because unwilling to work hard enough to practise it? The perfection of the rule of Christian Science is what constitutes its utility: having a true standard, if some fall short, others will approach it; and these are they only who adhere to that standard."
