[Written for the Sentinel]

Love's Wondrous Power

A cry of deep and dire dismay
Was borne on pinions naught could stay,
So great the need that somber day.

Without a single doubt or fear
The child of God, with love sincere,
Quickly obeyed the summons clear.

Walking in wisdom's holy way,
With faith surmounting all delay,
Love's wondrous power was proved that day.

Hushed was the weary cry of pain,
For Love's dear peace fell not in vain,
And Life divine was found to reign.

O Love! Thy healing power and grace
Restore my soul, all pain erase,
As I behold Thy light, Thy face.
