Christian Science was brought to me a little over five years ago by a friend who had been healed, as he knew I had been ailing for twelve years and was still a slave to material remedies. He asked me if I would not try it, and as I did not know what it was, he loaned me Science and Health for three days. I commenced to read this book, and felt more peace of mind than I had for years, so I bought a copy, also the Quarterly, and said I would give Christian Science a fair trial. I had always wished I could love the Bible, but try as I would it had not much attraction for me. I read it only from a sense of duty, but now it has a new meaning and is everything to me.

I was wreck both physically and mentally before I began to read Science and Health, but have been healed of mental depression, sleeplessness, sick headache, toothache, ulcerated gum, inflammation of the bladder, bunions, and numerous other ailments. I shall never cease to be grateful to Mrs. Eddy for that wonderful book, also for her other writings, for they have opened my eyes to the truth. Jesus said, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." I have proved this to be true. I am very grateful for class instruction, as well as for the Christian Science literature and all the channels through which I have gained a higher understanding of Life, Truth, Love. For the physical healing I am grateful, but much more for the spiritual uplift; and above all, I am thankful to God, the giver of every good and perfect gift.
