The Lectures

North Yakima, Wash. (First Church). — William D. Kilpatrick, lecturer ; introduced by Mr. Brown, editor of the Selah Optimist, who said in part: —

When the subject of Christian Science is correctly explained it brings joy and peace, because with the understanding of it fear is broken and God-given freedom comes naturally. Permit me to say that Christian Science does not need much explanation. Its greatest mystery is the unerring simplicity of its truth. The great hunger in the world to-day for a better understanding of God proves that the husks of materialism have not satisfied or saved mankind. The constant cry for ages has been for health, happiness, and progress. Christian Science answers this cry and supplies the need. All that is required is a receptive spirit and sufficient humility to learn. No worldly wisdom or scholastic learning is necessary to find this Christ-healing — merely a readiness to accept the truth as clearly stated by Mrs. Eddy. She was elevated religious understanding from a theoretical to a practical basis, and has proven many times beyond a doubt that a clear understanding of Christianity meets every need of mankind. — Yakima Herald.
