This testimony is given to tell the world my experience as...

This testimony is given to tell the world my experience as a Christian Science student, and what this teaching has done and is doing for me. I am eighteen years of age, and took up the study of Christian Science in earnest only this last year, although I have been attending church for the past six years. I have had many minor demonstrations, but wish to tell of a healing which seemed wonderful to me in that for the first time I realized God's ever-presence,—that because I lived, moved, and had my being in Him, all manifestations of error must disappear.

There were many knotty lumps on my tongue, and one of them had become so large and painful that it was difficult for me to eat or talk. No definite steps were taken to overcome this trouble till one day the dentist, while working on my teeth, asked if I realized that there was an abnormal growth on my tongue. He then proceeded to tell of his sister, who had the same affliction; how she had undergone an operation, and of the suffering she endured. I asked no questions, not daring to make such a mountain of the condition; but on the way home fear suddenly came over me, and shortly I was picturing to myself the terrible things that might happen if this trouble progressed.

Upon reaching home the decision was made not to tell the family, as my mother already had much fear, and the difficulty would be all the harder for me to overcome, but to work out my own salvation, having once heard a Christian Science practitioner say that all fear must be obliterated before the healing is made manifest. To be alone with my thoughts I retired early, knowing that as God's child I was His perfect reflection, His image and likeness, and that everything God made was good. Peacefully I fell asleep, and the following noon, having forgotten it till then, found that my tongue was perfect. Words cannot express my feelings, my happiness and thankfulness.
