Most critics realize today that there is little hope of successfully combating Christian Science by merely declaring that it does not heal. This method of attack has been frequently employed in the past; but the growth of Christian Science has been so rapid and steady, and its healing effects so irrefutable, that an observing and inquiring public is no longer misled by such an abrupt dismissal of the subject.

Jesus of Nazareth taught and practised the Science of Christianity. It was the discovery of the divine Principle of Jesus' teachings by Mrs. Eddy that reestablished Christian healing throughout the civilized world. "This system," Mrs. Eddy writes on page 147 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "enables the learner to demonstrate the divine Principle, upon which Jesus' healing was based, and the sacred rules for its present application to the cure of disease."
