Deep gratitude impels me to testify to the blessings which my family and myself have experienced through Christian Science. Before this truth came into my life I was of the opinion that the universe is governed by chance, and through the activities of material law. I recognized no power of a higher order and abhorred everything of a religious nature, and in this mire of godlessness I seemed to feel at ease.

After I had lived long in this delusion of inharmonious beliefs, Christian Science came to me, teaching the exact opposite of what I had believed to be irrefutably true. My progress at first seemed almost imperceptible, for the right recognition of being dawned quite gradually. The thought that there is a God, an intelligence governing all true being, and that matter is but a false sense or concept entertained by mortals, seemed beyond my grasp. The earnest study of Christian Science, however, and the forcible and thoroughly logical arguments which we find in our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," eventually refuted human logic and reasoning, and little by little I realized with increasing joy that there is a divine Principle, Love, governing all in absolute harmony.

It was not disease which led me to seek Christian Science, though I cannot say that I had always enjoyed good health; rather was it a longing for spiritual truth which led me to it. Strange to say, although I had maintained such widely different views, the question never seemed to arise in my mind as to whether Christian Science really were true. This is to me a further proof that God guides us all, and that we must all sooner or later tread the path which leads to Him.
