When people live as far away from a Christian Science...

When people live as far away from a Christian Science church as I do, they are apt to neglect giving help to mankind by testifying to the good that has come to them through the study of Science and Health.

In 1904 I was to belief a very sick woman, since for a good many years I had suffered from colds and a cough. I always tried to be brave, and prided myself on my willpower, thinking it would pull me through; but I found that the human will had very little endurance. In the winter of the same year I felt that I would have to giver up, as my brother and sister had done, and pass on from what was called tubercular disease of the lungs; but about the time I was ready to give up, a friend from Chicago visited me and told me about Christian Science, so I attended the next testimonial meeting, and when I left the church I knew I had found the "pearl of great price." I went to a practitioner for treatment, and in one week I felt that I was born anew. I was engaged in the business world at the time, and came in contact with quite a few people; but I could see only beauty in every face into which I looked. For me, hate was turned into love. I had always been very quick tempered, but all this has given place to the temperament of love since I found the truth.

I had worn eye-glasses for several years, and a specialist had operated on one of my eyes three times, but the reading of Science and Health has completely cured me of all this trouble. It has been over eight years since I laid aside my glasses, and I have had no further need for them. One of the seemingly obstinate ailments which has been overcome in the past year was a bowel difficulty, said to have been inherited from both mother and father. For two years I have taken no thought of what I ate or drank, while all fear has left me, and I have been completely healed.
