I am indeed most grateful for Christian Science

I am indeed most grateful for Christian Science. About seven years ago, when I began to learn something of this healing truth, I was suffering from a complication of diseases, among which were a stomach affection, a skin disease, rheumatism, extreme nervousness, also kidney and liver trouble, with the addition of poor eyesight. On account of my many ills I had not been able to sit up more than a few minutes at a time for over a year. I suffered extreme pain all the time, and could eat only the lightest foods. There was no ease or comfort for me, and most of the time I was full of worry and fear. I was a church-member, and so was my mother, but our prayers seemed to fail, as did the efforts of five physicians. I went to two different health resorts, then I tried camping out for seven months, but received no benefit at all; in fact, I was gradually growing worse all the time.

At last my husband lost all hope of my recovery, as did every one else. The family were trying to think what to do next, when my father spoke of Christian Science, more in a joking way than seriously. We nevertheless accepted the hint thus given, and I began to improve after the first treatment, although it took about three years for my complete healing, and required a great effort on my part, as well as on that of my faithful practitioner. Though I had many struggles, I am thankful that I never thought of trying anything else. I stayed away from the world and read the Bible, together with Science and Health, and in this way I grew stronger and more healthy every day, until now I am well and strong. I am thankful to God and grateful to Mrs. Eddy; indeed, words cannot express my gratitude.
