There seems to be a very strong inclination on the part...

Merna (Neb.) Postal Card

There seems to be a very strong inclination on the part of many who know nothing about Christian Science or its modus operandi, to charge up to it, with very little if any investigation, all occurrences that happen out of the ordinary course of events. It is further stated in the same article that "Christian Science never yet has been of benefit on a sickbed." The results of Christian Science are so well established and so pronounced that the time has long since passed when it is possible by means of denunciation or disparagement to hinder or discredit the positive and ample beneficial achievements it is accomplishing. There is an abundance of indisputable proof that a very large number of people, afflicted with almost all kinds of so-called "incurable diseases," have been healed by Christian Science, and thereby restored to usefulness in all the different walks of life. This, notwithstanding the fact that the great majority are those who come after they have exhausted all the resources of materia medica.

Christian Science is not a blind faith simply; the healing is effected by means of a demonstrable rule which involves an understanding and acknowledgment of the omnipotence of God. The Christian Scientists believe in the infinite power and goodness of God and His willingness and ability to heal all our diseases, and have unmistakable evidence that the "effectual fervent prayer of the righteous man availeth much." The teaching and practice of Christian Science is based entirely upon the Bible and the teaching and works of Jesus. Mrs. Eddy's whole teaching is to elucidate the power of Spirit to heal not only sin but sickness, as it did in the time of Jesus and for several hundred years thereafter. And healing is being accomplished through the agency of Christian Science, with gratifying success, throughout the civilized world today.
