Omaha (Neb.) World-Herald

The mission of Christian Science is the establishment of God's kingdom on earth, and it seeks to accomplish its purpose by eradicating sin from men and inculcating the love of good in their affections. Its practice—eschewing all methods of human control, including telepathy and suggestion—relies solely upon the operation of God's law, which deals primarily with causation. Be it manifested as sickness or sorrow, poverty or pests, the cause of all human discord is sin, and the remedy in every instance lies in the overcoming of sin.

The novice in Christian Science may at times give undue prominence to insignificant detail, may try to eliminate effect without uprooting the cause. The wise student, perceiving the scope of his work, as a rule rids his house of vermin by ordinary methods, and devotes his energy to extirpating from his thought hate, envy, malice, revenge, and kindred evils.
