Although it is only nine months ago that I became acquainted with Christian Science, blessings in various ways have come to me through its glorious teachings, and I feel impelled to tell others of these proofs of the power of Truth.

About a year ago I lost my wife, after a severe case of confinement, and was left alone with the new-born twins and a four-year old daughter. One week later this child was taken ill with a throat affection, her condition being most alarming. I was sick myself, but had to attend to my work all day long. Besides this, I was going through great financial stress, so that I became very much depressed mentally. Having lost all faith in God, my moral strength failed, and while in this state of despair my attention was called to Christian Science.

I frankly admit that my attitude toward the subject was one of great distrust, and it was only owing to the fact that the teaching was presented to me by a good friend that I tried to find out what were the contents of the pamphlet which had been handed to me. The more I thought this teaching over and tried to be led, the clearer it became to me that Christian Science is the true way in which humanity may be led to the truth. Since then I have gradually regained my inward peace; I have been able to overcome financial difficulties more easily than I should have otherwise, and have experienced the power of Truth in the following instances : My little daughter was healed of mumps with one treatment. I myself was healed of a most distressing headache of years' standing, which had baffled the skill of several physicians. Some time ago I was attacked by erysipelas. The physician whom I had to consult, according to business rules, told me afterward that he had had but little hope of my recovery, as such cases usually affected the brain. The Christian Scientist before mentioned, upon my request, took up treatment, unswervingly declaring the truth for me, as I was unconscious for six days. The success of this was evidenced in my recovery in rather a short time, contrary to the physician's expectations. I have also received help through Christian Science in several minor instances.
