THE LECTURES

Before a fair-sized audience at the Opera House, last night [May 28], Frank H. Leonard of Brooklyn, N. Y., lectured on Christian Science. He was introduced by W. A. Beatty, who said in part,—

In all generations of the world since history began, man has searched for the truth. Five hundred years before Christ, in far-away India, Buddha was groping and searching for the light. After his death a still more enlightened people followed, and then Jesus Christ came and walked by the sea of Galilee and taught the people. Today we have Mrs. Eddy, who is teaching, according to her followers, something of the truth of Christ, of the real truth. Personally I am not a Christian Scientist: all I know is, that we who are not Christian Scientists may look and listen and be enlightened as to the belief of this people.—Correspondence.
