About seven years ago I became acquainted with Christian Science. At that time I was afflicted with a form of lung trouble. I had severe attacks of coughing, and now and then would also turn giddy. I was freed of these troubles with nine treatments in Christian Science. Later on, I suddenly sank into mental darkness. The nature of my disease and the circumstances at our home were such that my husband was obliged to have me taken to a hospital, but I had Christian Science treatment continually. I stayed there four months without any seeming improvement in my condition. I became very low physically through all the hypodermic injections, and was greatly reduced in weight. My husband therefore came one day with a sister of mine to take me home, but when he informed the directing physician at the institution of his intention, the latter said it was absolutely impossible to take home a patient so ill. As my husband insisted, he gave his consent, on an attestation that my husband would be responsible for any harm that might occur. Through the understanding of Christian Science, however, my relatives were enabled to hold out patiently. After I had been home four weeks the hold of the disease was broken. I gained strength perceptibly, and soon recovered my normal condition and weight. Today I feel stronger and healthier than ever before, and am infinitely grateful to Christian Science. I am glad to be able to study the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, wherein she shows us the way by which we are led, slowly or quickly, to God.
