Two years ago, when I was in great need, both mentally and physically, and was earnestly praying for something better in life, Christian Science was brought to me. I had been for eleven years in bondage to fear, having had attacks of illness every little while for which the doctors could not account, besides having a trouble which often resulted in chills and fever. Nearly every means known to materia medica had been tried, but with no cure, and I had been treated many times at a sanitarium, where I would go through the "baking process," after which different kinds of electricity were applied to the parts supposed to be affected; but all this wrought no lasting benefit. I also suffered from nervous and bowel trouble, and many times life to me seemed only a miserable existence.

Now, thank God, all these burdens have been rolled away.

One by one they have disappeared, as I have studied the Bible with the aid of our dear text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and depended entirely on divine Love for every need. My heart goes out in love and thankfulness to God as never before for all the blessings received since taking up the study of Christian Science, for with this has come that spiritual understanding of the Word of God which regenerates and uplifts, and which brings the peace and joy and content that satisfy. Words cannot express my gratitude and love to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her consecrated life and her wonderful work of love for the world. Her teachings have indeed made plain the truth which makes free, and I rejoice daily in the light that has come to me through understanding the allness of God and the nothingness of error.
