THE NEW BIRTHDAY

Cometh a day to the children of men—
Day of deliverance from longing and pain.

Out of the old thought, into the new;
Out of the seeming, into the true;
Out of the darkness, into the light;
Out of hate's weakness, into Love's might;
Out of the senses, on into Soul;
Out of the finite, into the whole;
Out of the death-dream of discord and fear,
Into the being of good-ever-here;
Out of the bondage of sin and the rod,
Into the freedom of sonship in God;
Out of mortality, into the Christ,
In selfless at-one-ment, by Spirit baptized!

Waiteth this birth in the bosom of Love—
Waiteth the sign of the Voice and the Dove.
