THE LECTURES

Questions come to us from time to time in regard to the By-law of The Mother Church which requires each branch church to give at least one lecture annually, and these questions indicate that there is more or less misunderstanding about the period covered by the word "annually." Reference to the Manual will show that the term for which the lecturers are elected commences on July I of each year, and what may properly be termed the lecture year extends from July I of one year to June 30 of the next year; therefore any branch church which has given at least one lecture during every such period is considered to have complied with the By-law.
