Over a year ago I was taken sick with lung trouble,...

Over a year ago I was taken sick with lung trouble, which soon resulted in serious complications. I was under the constant care of a doctor for eight weeks, and for a great portion of this time he called three and four times a day. I was reduced to a mere skeleton and was so weak that my family did not think I would recover. As a last resort we decided to try Christian Science, and telephoned to Dayton, O., for a practitioner, a relative of the family. My husband says he could see a slight change for the better within a few hours. The next day the practitioner came to our home and stayed by my bedside until after midnight. The following day I was able to eat a little solid food, the first I had eaten in several weeks, and I soon gained a good appetite. While under the doctor's care even morphine had failed to give me sleep, but after I had taken a few treatments I could rest better and sleep soundly. In a few weeks they were able to move me down stairs, and in less than five weeks with a little assistance I walked from the sitting room into the dining room and ate dinner with the family, the first since my illness. In about another month I had improved enough so that I could go to Dayton on a visit, and since that time I have steadily gained, until now I can say that I am well and enjoying good health, and able to do my housework.

If those who read this testimony could know from what depths of misery and suffering I have been lifted through Christian Science, they could better appreciate my gratitude and what I owe to this blessed Christ teaching. From the depths of my heart I thank God, and I thank Mrs. Eddy for bringing to mankind this clearer view of the gospel of Jesus Christ, which to-day heals the sick as well as reforms the sinner.
