THE LECTURES

On Friday, May 3, Mr. Bicknell Young of Chicago delivered a lecture on Christian Science under the auspices of Erste Kirche Christi des Scientisten [First Church of Christ, Scientist] at the hall of Palmengarten before an audience of more than five hundred. Mr. Robert Schattenberg introduced the speaker, and said,—

I have the honor of presenting to you Mr. Bicknell Young, C.S.B., member of the Board of Lectureship of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston. It is the first time that a lecture on Christian Science has been delivered in our city. In this time of universal seeking and searching for Truth it surely is of deepest interest for every one to receive information about this great movement, which came to us from the United States. I esteem it a pleasure to introduce the speaker of this evening and to express to him our warmest thanks for having complied with our wishes.—Correspondence.
