I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science...

I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me. It was not because of a need of physical healing that I became interested in Christian Science, but because of dissatisfaction with the previous lack of result obtained, though I had endeavored earnestly to make practical in my daily life the teachings of Jesus Christ. Although I had been a member of a church for several years, my dissatisfaction and discontent were so great that I commenced to investigate other creeds and beliefs; and any new or different interpretation of the Scripture was eagerly sought and studied. While in this mental attiude Christian Science came to my notice, and although at first it did not appeal to me, except as a teaching containing some truth that the others had missed, I kept returning to it with increasing interest, until I was led to test it in removing some minor physical ills. Some what to my surprise the application of the rules laid down in Science and Health brought relief from pain. After this proof of the practical nature of the teachings of Christian Science, my progress in gaining an understanding has been slow but steady; and for fifteen years or more I have depended upon it for help, physically and spiritually. The Bible has become a new book through the illumination which Science and Health brings to its study. Its commands, precepts, and promises are now available, because of the understanding which Christian Science gives us of God as infinite Mind. Truth, Life, and Love, and of man as the reflection of God. This concept of God and man has been proven practical and tangible by a better state of health and a degree of contentment and satisfaction never before experienced. Christian Science has been my stay and solace through many trials, and in sorrow it has helped me to prove the truth of the Scripture, "My grace is sufficient for thee."

No words can express my gratitude to God for even the slight understanding I have of His love and protecting care; nor to Mrs. Eddy. who because of her obedience to the divine revelation of Truth has been able to give us Science and Health. My gratitude can only be expressed by humbly and steadfastly following in the path she so diligently pursues, and in which she so lovingly directs our steps.—Mrs. Abbie E. Rowe, Cawker City, Kan.
