Resignation of a Pastor

The following letter has been received by the trustees of the First Baptist church, Westerly, R. I., from the pastor, Rev. W. L. Swan:—

"New Haven, Conn., July 19, 1906.

"Dear Brethren and Sisters of the First Baptist Church: Since coming from Westerly and having thought the matter over carefully, I have decided it would be best for my pastorate to close the first of August instead of the first of October, if the church should see fit to release me at that time.
