For about nine years of my life I was a sufferer from rheumatism. During this time I had several severe attacks which lasted many weeks, and not one day in the whole time was I free from the fear of the disease. My heart was very much affected by the disease, and I suffered also from stomach trouble and constipation. I was told I must never overwork myself. I was treated by three physicians during the time, and at separate times when i had the severe attacks.

During the last severe attack of sub-acute rheumatism, when no hope was held out by the doctors for a permanent cure, a cousin who had been healed by Christian Science came to see me, and advised me to take treatment, saying that she knew it would cure me. Her encouraging words helped me much, for this was the first time I had been told that I could be healed. I was ready for something which would cure me, and I immediately arranged for Christian Science treatment. The treatment continued ten weeks, beginning in February, 1902. I was healed mentally and physically, for the fear of the disease left me entirely, and I was made physically whole.

Since that time many of my friends have noticed the change in my appearance, and have asked the cause of it. One said to me, "You almost persuade me to be a Christian Scientist." I have never had the slightest return of the disease, and what I rejoice over greatly is that I do not expect a return.
