It is not necessary to hold a brief for Christian Science...

Chicago Chronicle

It is not necessary to hold a brief for Christian Science in order to declare that it is not going to be injured by tirades like that delivered by a clergyman at the Winona camp meeting last Sunday. Opinions may differ as to the claims and achievements of Christian Science, but it is plain that the creed makes unexampled progress and attracts the most intelligent people. More polemic denunciation must be utterly ineffective against such a movement.
