Our two little bairnies, who have been with us, the one...

Our two little bairnies, who have been with us, the one five, the other nearly seven years, slept together last night, and I was aroused during the night to find the elder screaming, frightened by a terrible dream or nightmare, which must have seemed very real to her. Before I reached their bedside, I saw the little one calmly put her arms about her sister and say, "There, dearie, that's an old lie and can't hurt you," and at once the peace of God was restored and quiet and order prevailed in accord with the law of perfect Love which casteth out fear.

A little thing, some may say, still a beautiful proof of God's loving presence and watchful care over His sleeping children.—I. H. Quinby, Buffalo, N. Y.
