For more than seven years I was subject to many different forms of rheumatism, some of which were among the most painful,—sciatica, lumbago, and iritis. I was liable to acute attacks two or three times a year and became in consequence very nervous, despondent, and fearful. I first read the text-book of Christian Science sixteen years ago and I believed in its healing for others. I think I understood the letter of its healing for others. I think I understood the letter of its teaching and I became a defender of the truth and an honest seeker for it. Whenever I met Christian Scientists, they were always ready to answer my questions, kindly and patiently explaining what I found perplexing. Suffering at last led me to go directly to a practitioner for treatment. Then I realized how foolish and needless the delay had been.

Neither pen nor tongue of mine can ever express my gratitude to those who took me, a stranger, in and fed me. I am well and happy. I study the Bible lessons with more interest than I ever found in Bible instruction before, and I am finding health and comfort every in Christian Science.—EMILY R. EMERSON, Gorham, N. H.
