Christian Scientists much Pleased

Buffalo Courier

Great satisfaction is felt among Christian Scientists all over New York State over the attitude shown toward them by the Buffalo Health Department. In The Courier of April 8, Health Commissioner W. D. Greene declared his position in regard to the enforcement of law and the Christian Scientist faith. Dr. Greene's statement in reference to his investigation into the subject has aroused W. D. McCrackan of the Christian Science Publication Committee of New York to write a letter of commendation to The Courier. The letter follows:—

Christian Scientists everywhere read with pleasure the just and kindly words of Dr. Greene of the Buffalo Department of Health, reported in your issue of April 8. I am sure that he is entirely correct in saying: "We are confident that ourselves and the Christian Scientists will never have differences of opinion as to the enforcement of the law." His action in going directly to Christian Scientists themselves, instead of accepting rumors and tales of gossip as facts, made it possible for him to declare: "I found in them a ready desire to comply with every feature of the law."

Buffalo is to be congratulated upon the sensible and straightforward action of its Health Commissioner. Christian Scientists are desirous of fulfilling the law and obeying local ordinances.
