To introduce myself I would say, that we as Christian Scientists stand alone in this part of our state, Michigan. We are as a lone tree in the midst of a vast plain. The name Christian Science seldom reaches our ears, except as we occasionally read an unfavorable comment in a newspaper. But our all-sufficient light comes through the pages of Science and Health, which appear to be more and more illumined. Our circumstances and conditions in this material life are peculiar. Nearly sixteen years ago I was (as it appears to me, providentially) led to Christian Science. At that time, I was completely broken down by disease and poverty Through a Christian Scientist this welcome light and deliverance came. Through her treatments and highly spiritual instructions, I was saved from the grave. My beliefs of sin and disease were legion, and it became evident that they must be destroyed through suffering as well as through Science. The belief of sin of almost life-long standing grew mighty in strength and governed the so-called man, but the strong man is being bound. Catarrh and salt rheum from birth, which have afflicted me, are being overcome, while other complaints of shorter duration, but which were the cause of great suffering, have entirely disappeared.

Jesus' speaking of an afflicted one's being bound of Satan for these eighteen years seems remarkable, but the truth of Jesus' words: Greater works than these shall he do" is manifest in these latter days, when we can truthfully say with reference to ourselves we have been liberated. though bound of Satan, lo, these fifty years.

We have had many remarkable demonstrations of the Truth in our own family, as well as with others.
