Vain Thoughts

Do Christian Scientists think vain thoughts? Let us hear the meaning of vain: "Producing no good result, fruitless, destitute of force, weak, unsatisfying, useless."

What is the result of our thinking? Do our thoughts bear the fruit of Spirit? Is there force back of our thinking and is it the force of Mind, or are our thoughts weak, unsatisfying, useless? It behooves every Christian Scientist to heed the advice of the Master when he said. "Watch." To that word one might with profit, add a little and make it read, watch your thinking.

Our progress would be marvelous if we were so alert that not even a shadow of an empty, useless, worthless, fruitless, or idle thought were permitted to remain. Then we would realize the omnipotence of Good so clearly that all that is opposed to the law of God would disappear.
