"Wrong Methods of Advertising"

We have read a circular sent out by Mrs. S. A. Jefferson of Chicago, in reference to which we desire to say that its author is not now affiliated with the Christian Science movement. By her own voluntary acts she has departed from the legitimate and well-established Christian Science methods and practices, thereby cutting herself off from genuine Christian Science.

Christian Scientists have no jurisdiction over her or her practices, and hence all they can do or say is to inform the public that she is not recognized by them, and her methods not endorsed but disapproved.

We wish to say further that Christian Scientists deprecate her severe and altogether unjust attacks upon the medical profession, which, within its sphere, is laboring for the welfare of humanity, and which contains within its ranks scores and scores of noble, self-sacrificing men and women.

In this connection we will also say, that we have received a letter from Mrs. Dora L. Bond of Wichita, Kan., in which she says she never authorized Mrs. Jefferson to use her name in her circulars.
