Experience of a Business Man

I have used Christian Science in business and in my home, and I have found it very practical. There is a science of numbers called arithmetic, and there is a Science for right living which is called Christian Science. Before I understood much of Christian Science, I thought Scientists were too loud in their praise of Mrs. Eddy; but now that I know what her unselfish life-work has been and what Christian Science has done for me — even the name of Mary Baker Eddy is an inspiration to me. I came home one evening and flung myself in a chair; it seemed to me my time had come, then the thought came to me to try Mrs. Eddy's hymn. I read, —

'Tis the Spirit that makes pure,
That exalts thee, and will cure
All thy sorrow and sickness and sin.

Five minutes afterwards I got up perfectly well and went out. Was it the words that healed me? No! It was the realization that Spirit — omnipresent God — heals, and our beloved Leader's inspired hymn helped me to realize it.
