Approached the Wrong Man

The publisher of a popular weekly paper published in New York City was recently approached by the representatives of certain syndicates that are opposing Christian Science, with a proposition to unite with them in "putting it down," saying to him it was the opportunity of a lifetime and he would be foolish not to avail himself of it.

The gentleman so approached happened to be well acquainted with a number of Christian Scientists and to know much of the good work they are doing, and he declined their enticing proposition. He wisely cautioned them that in their efforts to "put Christian Science down" they most likely would only be "putting it up."

Comment seems to be unnecessary, yet we may feel called upon at some time more fully to expose some of the methods which are being resorted to by those who are vainly flattering themselves that Christian Science can be "put down."
