Some few have stood upon the mountain heights of thought and there conversed with God. The message that they bring is, "God is Good." By lesser minds, with vision bounded by the earth clods where they delve, with scarce a glimpse of heaven above the pit themselves have dug, this message is but illy heard; when heard, but dully felt. To them is barely visible the noonday light of truth, that light which searches every nook where shades of error lurk and banishes for aye the shadows there. For far away and dim to them that light which floods God's upper world; 'tis but a silvery gleam amid the chill and blackness of the pit wherein they grope, so dim they half believe it but illusion. Oh! poor and blinded earth-worms! Follow up that thread of light to the open day God's bright world of truth and love, and listen to the message of the spirits of the heights, then join in the exultant paean, with angel voices leading, "God is Good."
