Life that never stops

“What did you go to see?” “What are you looking for?” (Matthew 11:7, John 1:38, International Standard Version). Jesus often used questions like these to gently turn his followers away from material appearances and toward a more spiritual way of thinking.

We know from the Bible that Jesus healed multitudes, raised the dead, and returned to life in his own resurrection. He truly understood that God is Life, and did not look to matter to see evidence of God. Christian Science teaches that God, Life, is not in matter, nor can physical evidence teach us anything about God.

I have relied on the sweet assurance that God is Life many times, but I had to cling to it with more faith than ever before several years ago, when my mom passed away unexpectedly.
