We can overcome fear—and illness

How many times have you seen aggressive advertising during flu season, on the Internet, TV, or radio? What if work colleagues or neighbors talk about how ill they feel, or graphically describe a disease?

If you feel worried that you’ll get that sickness, can this fear make you sick, too?

There’s a good contingent in the medical profession and many theologians who agree that it can. As a Christian Science practitioner for many years, I’ve seen how thought affects the body—both negatively and positively. I’ve also seen very clearly how we can reverse these effects through thinking about ourselves in spiritual terms—as ideas of God, the divine Mind.
