Giving thanks with the Thanksgiving Bible Lesson
“Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift” (II Cor. 9:15). Thanksgiving will soon be here—October 12 in Canada and November 26 in the United States. Every day is a day to give thanks to God for all the good and the healing blessings we experience. Each day we can see in our lives the power of God-inspired gratitude to bring comfort and refuge. In this season, though, we set aside special time to focus on this gratitude.
There are abundant opportunities to be blessed by the spiritual feast contained in this year’s Thanksgiving Bible Lesson. In a recent article, “We are buoyant!” in the Christian Science Sentinel, read how the author helped a friend through the concept that “giving gratitude is a most powerful prayer.”
In addition, beautiful Thanksgiving Lesson booklets are available to purchase at christianscience.com/shop and from local Christian Science Reading Rooms. You can also read, download, and listen to the Thanksgiving Lesson in four languages. For further study you can read the Thanksgiving edition of the Bible Lens online or in the November 23 issue of the Christian Science Sentinel for more in-depth study of this Lesson. We invite you to use the Journal Directory to find a Christian Science Thanksgiving service near you and come give thanks with us.
