Some more questions and answers

In a time when there is lots of public discussion of Christian Science, we might sometimes wish that an interviewer had asked slightly different questions or at least had listened a little more carefully to the answers. So we thought it would be interesting to have a different kind of interview—one in which the same person both asks the questions and answers them. The "same person" in this case is the Editor. (He'll try to be objective; he's sure the interviewee will understand if he seems remarkably quick at comprehending what is meant!)

Q. I've read a lot about Christian Science in the newspapers and seen several discussions on television recently. Most of this concerns the healing practice of Christian Science. Is it actually reliable or reasonable to depend on Christian Science for healing?

A. Yes, it's reasonable, and Christian Scientists are reasonable people. Actually, most of the media discussion has not dealt with the healing practice of Christian Science. Healings, which are the norm in a Christian Scientist's life, really haven't been talked about very much.
