What the author thought about revisions of Science and Health

A lie left to itself is not so soon destroyed as it is with the help of truth-telling. The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 130 . Mary Baker Eddy

If someone said to you that Mrs. Eddy intended to dissolve the Church she spent her life founding, you undoubtedly wouldn't believe it. But if he suggested that she deliberately included certain clauses in the Manual of The Mother Church in order to bring this about, you might wonder. More facts, however, would readily expose the deviousness of the argument.

As you assimilated this freely available information (see, for example, Permanency of The Mother Church and its Manual or "A Church designed to last"  Permanency (Boston: The Christian Science Publishing Society, 1985) and The Christian Science Journal, Vol. 100 (1982), pp. 338—341, 399—402, 469—473, 527—531. ) you would see the lie for what it was. You would realize it wasn't the Founder who wanted to dissolve The Mother Church; it was the individual purveying the lie! Alert, watchful prayer and truthtelling have in fact wholly exposed and nullified this devious campaign of recent years.
