The Importance of Following Through

Just before she went out on the course to play her first game of golf, a woman asked her instructor to explain an eagle, a birdie, and a hole in one so that if she made any of these, she would know it.

To her great surprise he laughed heartily and said: "Well, don't you worry. You won't make any of these while playing today. The main thing for you to remember is the importance of following through."

Many years have elapsed since this incident, but the words of the instructor have returned again and again to the woman's thought, and she has found them most helpful in every phase of human activity. Consider, for instance, how often some major project, some lovely creative work, some kind thought or deed—or even a Christian Science treatment—is not perfected, completed, or brought to full fruition because the individual does not realize the importance of following through until the work is completed.
