Surrendering as a Little Child

I was awakened one night by the telephone and heard the voice of a little child sobbing and crying, "My family have gone out and left me alone in the house, and I'm afraid!"

"Oh, darling,'' I said, "don't be afraid! You just forgot that God is there, right there with you, nearer than hands and feet. Don't ever again say, 'I'm alone.' He is always within reach, and He is your real-for-sure Father-Mother Mind, 'a very present help in trouble.'" Ps. 46:1;

After this brief introduction to her heavenly Father, the child's fear subsided into complete satisfaction, happiness, and relaxation. She asked, "You've been so nice to me, won't you tell me your name?"
